Upset with regular incidents of eve teasing, a 21-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in Burari on Monday.

The deceased was a first-year student of MA in Delhi University, was allegedly attacked with a blade and knife by Amar and Sanjay Tiwari on Sunday, who her family claimed was teasing her.

The two brothers reportedly wanted to be friends with the girl. The girl's maternal uncle, told Mail Today that her mother had a heated argument with Amar, Sanjay and their father Shyam Lal Tiwari on Sunday.

The three left the area but later came back around 6 pm when the girl was alone. "I learnt from the girl that Amar and Sanjay had a blade and knife and their father Shyam Lal forced the girl to open the door. Meanwhile, Amar and Sanjay broke the window and a cooler to terrorize her. When the girl opened the door, they entered and attacked her."

The girl, who had cut marks on her hand and face, narrated the ordeal to her mother, who informed the police post.

However, according to the family, the police did not help. "We found her body hanging from the ceiling fan inside her bedroom in the house. We are not satisfied with the efforts of the police," said the girl's uncle.

When contacted, an official of the Burari police station said: "The police have not recovered a suicide note. We have registered an FIR following the family's complaint. The matter is under investigation. The accused are yet to be arrested."

Meanwhile, one of the accused, Sanjay, denied the charges levelled against him and his brother Amar. He blamed the girl and said that she had thrown stones when he was riding a bike.
